The Hong Kong Archives Society (HKAS) was established in 1999. As a registered non‑profit membership organisation, HKAS is dedicated to promoting the value of archives and the importance of archives management, advancing archival education as well as fostering the professional development of Hong Kong’s archival sector and its practitioners.
We represent archive professionals and institutions in various sectors, as well as those who take interest in archives. We also serve as a platform to facilitate exchange among practitioners, archive users and the wider public. HKAS is a Category B (Professional Associations) member of the International Council on Archives (ICA) as well as ICA’s East Asia regional branch (EASTICA), and is well recognised by archival communities in the region as a representative professional body for Hong Kong.
Archives are documentary evidence pertaining to our past. Collectively they represent the irreplaceable assets of a society. If you are involved in the archives profession, or simply care about our documentary heritage, become a member and work with us for our shared legacy.
