 Assistant Librarian (University Archives and Digitization) in the Library

Hong Kong Shue Yan University Library is inviting applications for the Assistant Librarian position. The appointee reports to the University Librarian.

 

Responsibilities:

l   Process, describe and preserve the archival collection;

l   Manage and update the online archives system;

l   Publicize and expand awareness of the archives collection through written materials, exhibits, tours or perform other activities as needed;

l   Coordinate the digitization of university publication and materials;

l   Train and supervise the staff on archival projects;

l   Manage budget and perform administrative tasks regarding the operation of the University Archives;

l   Perform other duties as assigned by the University Librarian.

 

Candidates should possess:

l   A recognized Master’s degree in Information Management or Archives Study or related disciplines;

l   Relevant work experience in cultural organizations (archives, library, or museum) or related fields;

l   Knowledge of standard archival practices and principles;

l   Experience in using AtoM or other collection management systems;

l   Experience in managing and implementing digitization projects;

l   Ability to work independently, as well as work collaboratively in a team with colleagues in the Library and the University;

l   Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese.

 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
