The Chinese University of Hong Kong Library invites applications for a Project Co-ordinator II. 

The appointee will be assigned to support the operations of the University Archives and CUHK History Gallery. Reporting to the University Archivist, the appointee’s duties include (a) overseeing daily operations of the CUHK History Gallery, including venue maintenance and facility management; (b) assisting in curation of archival materials for display; (c) conducting research on topics relating to CUHK history; (d) organising and preserving archival materials according to standards; (e) preparing finding aids for collections to facilitate researchers in use of materials; (f) assisting in digitisation projects and metadata preparation; (g) conducting guided tours, outreach programmes and other education activities; (h) answering enquires and handling administrative issues relating to the unit; and (i) other tasks as assigned. Shift duties in the evenings, at weekends or on holidays at library helpdesks are required.

Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor’s degree or above; (ii) at least 2 years’ work experience in archives, museum or library environments; (iii) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; (iv) proficiency in MS Office; (v) strong interpersonal and communication skills; and (vi) the ability to work independently, collaboratively with other colleagues and as part of project teams. Experience with exhibit mounting or preservation of historical documents, or possession of postgraduate qualifications in archives and records management will be advantageous. 

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
