Project Co-ordinator II (carrying the job title of ‘Archives Officer’)

The CUHK Library now invites applications for the post of Project Co-ordinator II to support operations of the University Archives and the University Gallery.
Reporting to the University Archivist, the appointee will be responsible for (a) liaising with various offices in the acquisition of records of permanent value; (b) organising and preserving archival materials; (c) preparing finding aids for collections; (d) conducting research on topics relating to CUHK history; (e) assisting in curation of archival materials for exhibitions; (f) overseeing daily operations of the University Archives and the University Gallery; (g) conducting guided tours and other education activities; and (h) performing other tasks as assigned. Shift duties are required.
Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor’s degree; (ii) at least 1 year’s work experience in archives, museum or library environment; (iii) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (iv) proficiency in computer applications, such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.; (v) strong interpersonal and communication skills; (vi) a positive attitude and good team spirit. Postgraduate qualifications in archives and records management, and experience with organisation and preservation of historical documents, archival management system, or exhibit mounting will be advantageous.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
