Hong Kong International Archives Week 2025: Archives Are Accessible

Archives are the key to understanding our past, inspiring our present and shaping our future. Providing greater access to archival materials is more important than ever. The Hong Kong Archives Society is proud to present the Hong Kong International Archives Week 2025 under the theme “Archives Are Accessible”, inviting the public to join a range of activities including the Archives Expo, Public Talks Series a nd Campus Guided Tours. Together, we shall explore ways in which digital technologies and heightened awareness can help expand access to our documentary heritage, ensuring that these invaluable resources are available for everyone and for the future generations.

Archives Expo & Talks 
This year’s Archives Expo will feature a record-breaking 20 archival and cultural institutions (see image attached for the list of exhibitors), showcasing their unique collections and treasures. To be held at Saint Francis University, it will, for the first time, be joined by a Catholic showcase from Macau.


In the Public Talks Series, speakers from seven organisations will share new archival resources and insights into the transformative power of innovative technologies in the preservation and use of archives (see images attached for details). 

Campus Guided Tours 
The tours will cover the Caritas Jockey Club Resource and Support Centre for Carers and the Saint Francis University Library. While the Centre offers various support services for caregivers, the Library and the adjacent Learning Commons provide users with a spacious environment for interactive learning. The Young’s Corner in the Learning Commons was specifically set up in memory of the late Bishop Michael Yeung Ming-cheung of the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong.
