Project Co-ordinator II - University Archives, CUHK Library

The Chinese University of Hong Kong Library invites applications for a Project Co-ordinator II. The appointee will be assigned to the University Archives.

Reporting to the University Archivist, the appointee’s duties include (a) assisting in curation of archival materials for display; (b) handling administrative issues relating to the University’s Gallery renovation, operation and maintenance; (c) conducting research on topics relating to CUHK history; (d) organising and preserving archival materials according to standards; (e) preparing finding aids for collections to facilitate researchers in use of materials; (f) assisting in digitisation projects and metadata preparation; (g) conducting guided tours, outreach programmes and other education activities; and (h) other tasks as assigned. Shift duties in the evenings, at weekends or on holidays at library helpdesks are required.

Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor’s degree or above; (ii) at least 1 year’s work experience in archives, museum or library environment; (iii) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; (iv) proficiency in MS Office; (v) strong interpersonal and communication skills; and (vi) a positive attitude and good team spirit. Experience with exhibit mounting or preservation of historical documents, or postgraduate qualification in archives and records management will be advantageous.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
