Public consultation on a proposed policy on public access to information and records kept by the Legislative Council Secretariat and related issues
The Legislative Council Commission has drafted an access to information policy to facilitate public access to the information and records held by the LegCo Secretariat through formalizing the existing practice, providing rules and procedures for handling public access requests, and setting out access exemptions and maximum records closure periods. A public consultation exercise on the proposed policy will be conducted from 12 July to 11 September 2013 to gauge public views by means of an on-line questionnaire posted on the LegCo Website at this link:
We value views and suggestions from the public and particularly from academics, researchers, journalists and information professionals who may be more frequent users of our records and information. They are encouraged to complete the said questionnaire either on-line or send us their return by fax (Fax No.: 2537 1851), by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or by mail (Address: Public Information Division, Legislative Council Secretariat, Legislative Council Complex, 1 Legislative Council Road, Central, Hong Kong). Briefing sessions may be arranged on request. Details concerning the proposed access to information policy and related issues are given in the consultation documents available on the LegCo Website above.
