Fancy a historical stroll along the Tsim Tsa Tsui and Hung Hom harbour-front? Then visit the 'Sailing through Time from 1881' exhibition at '1881 Heritage' today.
Organised by the Hong Kong Heritage Project, the exhibition chronicles the history of Tsim Tsa Tsui and Hung Hom, two very different districts that have both witnessed the rapid growth of tourism, commerce and the manufacturing industry.
The 'Sailing through Time from 1881' exhibition take the viewer on a journey to discover the secrets behind the districts landmarks, as told through the unique photographs, records, maps, oral histories and film from The Hong Kong Heritage Project's Archive.
Discover the Marine Police Headquarters' links with the renowned 'Cross Harbour Swim'and the role played by the Peninsula Hotel in sheltering Jewish refugees before the Second World War. Learn more about Empire Day and imperial trade fair hosted at The Peninsula in the 1930's.
Exhibition venue: The Heritage Hall at 1881 Heritage, 2A Canton Road, Tsim Tsa Tsui.
Opening hours: 13 December 2010 - 12 February 2011, 10am - 10pm.

Members of the Business Records Group, a sub-committee of the Hong Kong Archives Society, were recently featured on Sarah Passmore's RTHK Naked Lunch programme.
Discussion topics included: the origins and aims of the group, how archives bring value to businesses and the community, and how Hong Kong fares in terms of business archives globally.
